The best way of experiencing the Boka Kotorska (Gulf of Kotor) is on a sailing boat trip around Kotor Bay and Tivat Bay.

The Boka Kotorska is a 93kilometre stretch of sheltered water, made up of four bays which each have their own character.  Kotor Bay is the jewel in the crown, with its dramatic, steep-sided mountains and stone architecture. Tivat Bay is great for sailing, with fantastic views of the Orjen and Lovcen mountain ranges and glorious swimming at Sveti Marko Island.

Our trips are a 4 hour experience which is the perfect amount of time on the water.  We offer either a daytime trip (you can start any time between 10am and 2pm) or a sunset trip which starts around 4pm.

Itinerary 1: Kotor Bay Tour (round trip via UNESCO World Heritage site of Perast & islands)

We pick you up in Kotor/at your accommodation and take you on a relaxed cruise through the beautiful Boka Kotorska. Sit back and relax whilst soaking in the magnificent scenery and history along the way.  We know all the best places and you can swim from the boat in clear, sparkling water beneath the soaring mountains in our favourite swimming spots, away from the crowds.

Sunbathing whilst enjoying the scenery and the history
Sunbathing whilst enjoying the scenery and the history – life on Monty B!

The jewel in the crown is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Perast which we will sail around (there is usually good wind here), together with its two historic islands with churches dating from the 12th and 15th centuries. Tim’s informative and (sometimes) amusing history talks are not to be missed!

We return to Kotor via the western shore of the Boka, whilst you sip complimentary G&Ts (gin and tonics to those non-English guests) and enjoy our snack platter whilst relaxing on deck.

Itinerary 2: Four Islands Tour (one way trip Kotor Bay, Perast and Tivat Bay)

All of the above but instead to returning to Kotor, we continue along the historic channel of Verige into Tivat Bay which is distinctly different from Kotor Bay.  There is almost guaranteed sailing as there is usually a lovely breeze in this bay.  We sail around the legendary Sveti Marko island and the islet of Our Lady of Mercy with its 15th century Benedictine monastery.  The highlight of the trip is anchoring at Sveti Marko Island which is a a great swimming spot and perfect for relaxing on deck with G&Ts and our snack platter.

Join us for some sailing – or just relax

Four Islands Tour is our recommendation as Tivat Bay and Kotor Bay are quite different and this enables us to show you the best of the Boka Kotorska in 4 hours.  This is a one-way trip and the taxi journey between Tivat and Kotor (or vice versa) takes around 15 minutes and costs between €12-15. Taxis here are cheap, easy to arrange and always on a meter.

Please note, itineraries are flexible and can change as the day progresses depending on customer’s wishes.
